Hand-built, supercharged and tuned for maximum performance, the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 engine was conceived to impress drivers with usable power. Its 3.2-liter V6 produces 330 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, enough to propel the car to 60 miles per hour in approximately five seconds. A water-to-air intercooler helps the engine breathe easy at any speed, with 90 percent of its peak torque available between xxxx and xxxx RPM. The performance comes from an AMG supercharged version of the Crossfires corporate Mercedes 3.2-liter, SOHC, 18-valve V-6 engine. The SRT-6 shares an awful lot in common with the outgoing SLK32 AMG, other than just the engine and gearbox. The dual control arm front and multilink rear suspension are virtually identical, although they are tuned in this application, with firmer damping and much stiffer spring rates.
